If ant farms aren’t your thing, how about a butterfly pavilion? Watch very hungry caterpillars grow into very fat caterpillars, which then spin lovely chrysali, and emerge as butterflies! If you love them, set them free and see if they come back to you (probably not). Best of all, these kits come with certificates for free caterpillars!
